                  Bill,
RKT #2 should be Franz Scheidies... He is actually wearing RK+EL

                    GK,

Are you sure? Reverse says he was a General but on the front it does not show any General collar insignia. Do have any information as to what Regiment or Division he led depending on what rank. I did see that he had an eichenlaub which is why I addressed him as RKT. The only book I have on RK winners is on Fallschirmjaegers.

                            Bill,
no, i am not sure, but maybe the writer of the note on the reverse wasn't either...

I also noticed the inconsistency of the photo and the reverse... I will try to explain what I was thinking:

I was (and am) pretty sure that the name on the reverse reads "Scheidies". The only Scheidies I found on www.das-ritterkreuz.de was

                            Generalmajor
                            Scheidies, Franz
                            * 22.12.1890 Großpelken/Ostpreußen
                            + 07.04.1942 Gluschitza/Rusland
                            Ritterkreuz am: 05.08.1940
                            als: Oberstleutnant
                            Funktion: Kommandeur InfRgt 127
                            43. Eichenlaub am: 31.12.1941 als Oberst
                            Kommandeur InfRgt 22

As the Name "Scheidies" is not too common (especially among EL holders), he should be the right choice. Note that he was promoted to Generalmajor posthumously, which might explain the "General" on the reverse...

                            Would that be plausible?

                            regards

It does look like he is the right one....Picture probably taken as Oberst & Commander of Infantry Regiment 22. Thanks - Bill

                                Yes, definitely Scheidies ELT.

Then the one in the snow was Hermann Heinrich Behrend, another ELT

                                Cheers
