I received a response from Herr Kam a few weeks ago. I was thinking the same thing about the pictures. Never saw those before

Herr Kam is a nice man. He sent me some personalized photos a couple months ago, plus a little note saying thanks.
Something interesting happened this week. I got a reply from Herr Eikmeier; he signed all the photos I sent, wrote me a letter, AND returned the Euros I sent him! In one part of the letter, he said he was "proud of his time as a soldier" and didn't need money from someone interested in his career. WOW! These former soldiers keep surprising me with their kindness and generosity. They certainly deserve a lot of respect.

Eikmeier is such a nice man. I received some letters. He answeres to every question. Always friendly. A real gentleman.

                          Also Herr Kam.

                              Hi there,

Today I received a reply from Herr Willy Tscherning (RK - KG1 "Hindenburg") - a true gentlemen like all German veterans I have contacted. I echo the words of Nidhøggr regarding Herr Hans Eikmeier!
I would like to thank Paul and Phil and co. for their updates - without these I would be quite lost... It is always sad to hear of the guys passing away but we have our small mementos to remember them by - in that way our friends are never forgotten! I often wish I was born earlier so I could have contacted these men in their prime but alas I would now be as old as you guys

Thomas (24 years) Began contacting German Veterans in Feb 2005...
