This is a free forum - so everybody could post the fotos he likes to (as long as the postings follow the rules of the WAF, of course).

If anybody has a problem with this fact, I suggest he should not visit this forum...

Does anyone here have information or suggestions on how I may contact these living RK holders? I would really like some signed photos. I've already received a couple of signed photos back from Otto Carius, and he was so friendly that I had hoped to request an autograph from others (especially Josef Roellecke, Søren Kam and Eberhard Heder). I'm not asking for addresses, but just to be pointed in the right direction. I know some of you also share this pasttime and believe it special to be able to make contact with these veterans. Kindly let me know. Thanks!

By the way, Rudolf Sauerbrei died on 22 July 2007. You can remove that from the list. Godspeed to another Hero.

Where do you guys get these photos for the Knight's cross holders to sign? I had to scan images from books, and e-mail them to Wallgreens and have them resize the image and print it out on glossy paper. It costs a lot. Any tips?

go to a Walgreens, scan there yourself, tell them not to crop prints

                  costs 19 cents

Haha, dang, been caught! Sorry about that and thanks for the update! That's good news. I guess it's time to change the secret source. Just wish that a "world-renown website" would actually have some accurate info (just glad I'm not always giving the wrong one).

                    Thanks and sorry again!

                      Hi Nidhoggr,
Could you confirm date of death for these 2 Luftwaffe : Werner Husemann and Otto SCHULTZ
                      born 31.05.20.

                      Thanks

The list of living EK recipients is missing Alfons Bialetzki - he also won the close combat clasp in gold, in addition to the Knight's Cross. He was in the Luftwaffe and then was an oberleutnant in the Heer. I think he was in the 1./Grenadier-Regiment 333, but was also a Fallschrimjaeger at the beginning of the war (up until Crete). Check it out: http://www.ww2awards.com/person/2151

There are still annual knights cross holders meetings, right? does anyone know where that is? I would feel honored to go to one, and keep those damn ebayers away from the veterans. It feels like everyone is guarding where this event is, keeping it's location secret even from fellow history enthusiasts who would treat the EK holders with the respect they deserve. What is up with that?
