According to TOCH forums, Franz Stigler (Luftwaffe) also has passed on 22.3.2008. http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=12519

He only held the DKiG, but he still was important, as all veterans are.

I've always wanted to write to a few of the KC holders, but I'm too shy, and just don't know what to say. I was tongue-tied in 2007 when I met Herr Schuck.

Damn,................ just got back to town and saw the posting. This is the hardest part of compiling the list. Rarely do you ever get to add names, but all too often you have to take them down.

It's even harder when you have traded correspondence with them.

Just did a list update. I didn't have Handler on the list originally, but I did painfully remove Dr. Mehrle (may he rest in peace).

On a more positive note, I also added Georg Le Coutre to the list.

Yes, I agree, as most on this board do, that all veterans are important. While not as high as the KC, on the military order of precedence, the DKiG / DKiS are both extremely significant awards. However this list only documents living Ritterkreuztraegers. I am sure a DK list would be quite extensive as well.

I have met Martin Drewes in Oktober 2007....He was in good health. Can anyone confirm his assumed death???
