Really Great Shots!! I love the abundance of Grenade bags slung around their necks!! Don you know what battle they were coming back from? Kreta?

Thanks Bill. Unfortunately, there's no inscription on the reverse to any of these images. I was thinking the Kreta campaign. In the image showing the grenade bags, the soldier in the back left appears to be wearing a cammo jump smock. One cammo amongst all those plain ones has me guessing Kreta victory parade as that was about the time the cammo smock first appeared. If I remember correctly, the first cammo pattern was introduced around the time of the Crete campaign but was not issued in any great numbers until after the battle. What do you think? Any opinions from the rest of the forum members?
