Holiday = time to do things you always postpone ...

This time, I found the time to line-up my RK collection ... seems I have a clear addiction .
And with this addiction comes a huge problem ... funds and mostly space .

    Enjoy the pix ....

OK ... not a 57er, but IMO it fits in the same period .... postwar Souval production .

Some time ago, I was able to get this one - as for most of early postwar pieces - for a very fair price.

Its clearly a postwar made P/O badge, which has the L/58 mark on the eagle.

I find these early ones still to have quite a good finish and overall quality ...

          Hope you like it,

          Mathijs

Nice piece Mathijs!! Like you i am quite a fan of these postwar Souvals, always interesting pieces, wether they are 57ers or just postwar copies!!
I can see holes for the rivets, but no rivets in there? So, i guess the eagle is soldered to the wreath??
Also, by the way the finish looks to be bubbling, it appears that this badge is made of zinc, or a zinc like material, as were a lot of Souvals postwar pieces i think, he seemed to be one of the few, if not the only maker still using this material!!
Great addition to your collection Mathijs!!!!

Nice quality piece Mathijs! I think I can see the rivets deep in the holes Nigel.

Is this the type with the swords cut away?

                              Hi Mike,

Indeed it is .... I have seen it before on the RK version, but not on the 1st call version ...

I wonder if, in the early days, S&L only made one die and removed the swords.
You know if the later pieces have similar tool marks ???
