My guess is Deutsches Sportabzeichen (DSB).

Assuming that the badge is original to the tunic, I don't think you would see an award from another state being worn.

This badge (DSB) is commonly encountered on police uniforms.

That is okay, but I don't know the police regulations about the wear of decorations, because that badge is, in my opinion, definetely not the DSB badge.

But DougO will clarify it.

I also wonder about the badge. With all the mixing and matching, there is the potential that someone put a DDR one on it also.

Not too many choices. DSB, DRL (de-Nazified ?), DDR,........

I do know it is not the DOSB

Hi-all ! Thanks for all the great information to get my tunics ,dates, ranks and states lined -up !

Now here the 2 sports badges I have . I guess the gilt one should go on the HAMBURG tunic .

When I was on a visit some years ago in Germany , a good Cousin of mine gave me these BRANDENBURG Polizei items a friend of his had given him for me . The friend was a policeman in 'Angermuende ' , which is a small town Northwest of Berlin .
