I think this is the best that has been said about the whole issue so far. They have a well thought out and balanced view of the problems, do not have extremist views of any of the issues at hand (unlike some of the archaeologist bloggers who seem to think that owning a German helmet makes one a nazi, or that bringing one German helmet out of a country is looting its cultural heritage... perhaps they are the monocultural fasco-archaeologists?), and propose constructive solutions fo the future.

HOw can you say that after reading all the posts here? Some wanted him dead, others wanted him dead and the show cancelled, some wanted him alive but ruined & the show cancelled, some want CG just to go away, and some thought CG and/or the snow did nothing wrong.

And no I say keep this thing rolling until we hear the final decision from NG. They are saying they will look the whole mess over and decide what to do about it. If they bring it back revamped or redone I'm sure there will be more to say about it all.

I'm glad WAF has the guts to keep at least one thread going. We have done nothing wrong here and we voiced our opinions. CG needs to go away and lick his wounds.

This had a major influence on them. They depend on us to supply them with a lot of their material. I have not seen archaeologists this angry since Ebay was allowing sale of antiquities that were know to be looted and illegally send to the US.

Please forgive me, sometimes I just get caught up in the whole debate and talk to much. Especially when it comes to ground dug and relics and burial sites, considering I have a relative out there somewhere as well. His name is Rudolf Hildebrandt and he died on Eastern Front. My Gramps said he was "verschlepped", not sure 100% on the spelling. My family meaning of the word was "scattered or discarded". The word "verschlepped" comes up as abducted or taken away, but they never recovered him. HE was a Polish German citizen, Germans farming in Poland. Was drafted into the Polish army but my mom doesn't know whether he faught against the Germans or Russians.
