Anyone can do a net search and find forum disputes with him going back before 2010. The SS ring book controversy in 2012 at some forums was bad press. Since then he has found what 5 big "great"finds and loves promoting them in the spotlight and several TV shows. Who is going to stop his current media darling status?

Marooned hanging on to the rigging or wrapped around the propeller there's a line one goes when just plain attacking someone for no reason publicly the item threads are here bring them back up and state your opinion...clear the deck.
I can think of two sites laughing at this thinking rightly some here are a bunch of squabbling deck hands.
While he was here I had to go to another forum to point out a fake on one of his auctions its not right nobody here even mentioned it btw or voiced any concerns or posted it anywhere else!!!!

I wish Don or somebody would delete this whole thread please Gentlemen lets move on I want to see cool neat gear new discoveries or recent information etc.

One of the good things about the internet nowadays is that it is the first place many people go to look for information about things or people.

A google search for Gottlieb will bring up this and (many other) threads about him good or bad.

Deleting it will only serve to to assist him to gain the status he craves, leaving this thread up with all the others that are scattered over the net and that raise questions about him will only help to detract from the "celebrity" that he desires so badly.

The Nazis burnt books that they did not like; do you want to burn or delete internet posts in your haste to see "cool neat gear" rather than face the facts that many esteemed and regarded collectors on here feel CG is now beyond the pale by virtue of his grave robbing activities and now deserves to be seen by the world for what he is?

Deleting this thread for "cool neat stuff" to take its place is a very shortsighted view and is one that will ultimately harm the hobby. Bad is what bad does; Gottlieb has set himself up as a dealer "king" and is all over the media at the moment as a spokesman for TR collecting and he is currently making the hobby look very stupid as a result (give me the name of one other dealer that has had a TV show about Nazi stuff pulled from the air before broadcast if you disagree), helping him to have a "cleaner" internet footprint by deleting threads that point out he is actually a sad helpless worthless loser assists no one.

Those who desecrate fallen soldiers or human remains for that matter, especially for entertainment and/or some sort of gain should be publicly executed.
I mean it in the most literally way but pointing those "people" out with threads like these is a start. I wonder if you react in the same
way by basically ignoring these wrongdoings if someone handles your grandfather's remains in such manor these idiots did.

It's all about how can I fill my wallet and what do I need for that..
It's not about the love for history etc..
The lack of knowledge is huge, other bits of knowledge come from other people etc..
Unfortunately fans will keep these people alive, soap or not ..

Oh Hoss not nice, a lot of time and work has been devoted here with some new information as well. It won't get deleted, just closed at some point. And we don't need it pinned either.

Thorsten, yes this forum and the experts here are the only reason I keep paying my $25. I want to support the forum for the past members help in buying TR but not necessary for me anymore as I'm satisfied with my collection to date.

I dunno maybe its a 'lost in translation thing' My point on reading this thread Mr Public probably will believe our main GRIPE is what Gottlieb did yes he's a nut but since he 'went' the members are using this as an opportunity to hit out and bitch about him.
I know its really hard to separate the two but this affair mustn't be about HIM he's always doing dumb things with him its no biggie.
