For anyone interested in a top set of shoulderstraps, there is a beautiful looking PzGren set on ebay at the moment. I wish that I could afford them but am committed to a helmet so thought that I should at least point them out to a few of you.

They belong to Chris, excellent boards.

I stand corrected, the boards are not Chris's. But still very nice ones. Matt

Would this be a tropical camo helmet Mark?....can't wait to see it if it is...nothing better than a tan camo helmet

            Luftwaffe Tropical (FLAK)

Mark G. will be aware that I've been expanding my interests from Pacific War into North Africa, specifically LW FLAK. I've finally finished "Phase 1" of my desert heavy FLAK impression, which is shown here. The shirt came from the eStand and is made of that odd wind-resistant material. As far as I know there are no known shoulder boards for this shirt type, so I have put regular LW tropical shirt boards on it for now.

My original goal was to have this character wearing an 88 Loader's glove, but I came by this mint jersey torso really cheap, and in any case nobody seems to know if any loader's gloves exist today (I guess not something people saved). So he can do without his arms for now! I kind of like these jersey covered forms, they look nice and museum-like. I may still pose some 88 casings around it, if I can find any "+25" marked ones for FLAK 18/36. This character will get the field cap visible at left.

Phase II will be the tunic/trouser combo with helmet and Y straps (got the helmet). That character will either get binoculars or a full 88 round, depending on what comes available...

                Jim,
The collection is looking very good. I'm sure a few guys would also love to see the field cap that you mention. It looks quite good from what I can see.

                Thanks for sharing

This and one other are the only outside-of-case photos I have of the field cap. It is very supple - not rigid at all - so even in the case I keep a glass dome under it.

Very nice looking cap Jim. I'm not a luft collector but this one would definitely be a piece that I would like if I were.

Thank you for showing us more pics.

                          Jim,

That is an excellent collection of tropical items. The luft cap is outstanding and that shirt is really great as well. Looks like there are a couple of sexy pith helmets lurking in the case as well. Matt

Oh yeah, three of them to be exact. One Kriegsmarine and two DAK, a tan one and an olive green one. The KM pith was a lucky acquisition - worn but still in very nice condition with a great form to it. The interior is about as nice as can be for an issue item.

                                Jim,
I see you have the DAK & Japanese dual collection going on like myself. If you have time, closeups of the DAK camo helmet would be appreciated
