    Thanks Guys,
It was a very good show. Tony, I did take the sidecap - you don't see too many with this much sun-fading and wear. There's also blood on the side but nothing detractive. I also have the veteran's ID etc to go with it.
There are more photos of the display which I can add later, but here's a cap I borrowed from Mark G. - a real beauty (Schliesiche/Frankenstein). I tried to pry this one from him, but no joy
The sweater is in (unfortunately) mint condition. As most people know I've no love for un-issued items, so if anyone has an issued example I'm up for a trade
    Regards,
    Mark

Nice stuff Mark. Whenever you have time it would be great to get some closeups of this new tunic. Also, would be curious as to more of the history behind this piece as this sounds very interesting.

                    Thanks Tony,
I must admit, it's the 'best' sidecap I've seen. I first examined it in 2001, and never thought I'd get the chance to be it's caretaker. What I like is the Pz crewman's oily fingerprints all over the front from repeated removal/use. I hope the blood is from a not too severe headwound...
Matt - I'll do that for you and post the images and provenance as soon as I can.

                      Mark,
I really enjoyed the trip to NZ and it was an absolute pleasure to meet you along with so many other fellow collectors and great guys. Seeing your collection was just fantastic. A shame that the sweater didn't arrive until after the show. Congratulations on finding that one. I probably won't be able to post my pics for a little while but will do so when I have the chance. I'll also make sure that you receive them all on disc.
The first photo that you posted is interesting as I can be seen checking out medals at the top left on a nearby table.

Your display was first class as is your collection. It was a true pleasure.

                      Take care
