Here's a neat ring & skulls from a 10th Panzer vet. Note the stockade-like design atop the ring. It symbolizes the fortifications at the Mareth Line. 10th Panzer took quite an active role in the defense of the South.

DAK map of Tunisia and Mareth

Hello Gentlemen,

Here's an original "DAK" map of Tunisia. Mareth was a town on the main road South of the port city of Gabes and North of Medenine. It was an anchor point for the German Southern line(s) and blocking the approaches of the main road arteries up to Tunis and even Bizerte to the far North. Tunis and Bizerte held major sea ports and were crucial supply centers for the German's endeavor in North Africa. Their defensive lines are indicated by - - - - on the map.

The 10th suffered great losses during Rommel's last great offensive in Tunisia - the failed drive on Medenine on March 6-7, 1943. The links below offer alot of neat information of the events of February-May, 1943 - including the battle history of the 10th Panzer in Tunisia.

I have been asked to add to this wonderful thread., this is what I can show at the moment.
This tunic came out of Bavaria almost eight years ago...two repairs, to inside collar behind neck and 6cm tear at the lower left pocket inside seam, which can happen when exiting AFV in a hurry...
