Here's the new ole DAK blanketcoat which arrived today. It's a little rough, but will clean up nicely. These photos are taken "out of the box" so to speak.
It was dyed black, but I am fortunate that this was done with water soluable coloring. Therefore, according to my tailor, she will be able to remove the occasional black spots. Further, the majority of openings are at the seams and they will close-up nicely.
Will post more photos after the cleaning/resto is complete.
ok here are my sud front and DAK items. This helmet was aquiered by my family a long long time ago probaly around the 50's The decal was touched up by the veteran who captured at some point, it has some carved writing in it may 1943 tunis. This helmet has a rough field applied paint job on it. It was my first helmet and unfortuantely my favorite toy as a kid. I wrecked the liner and chinstrap. The owners name is carved on the back Procshell or soemthing like that...
