          Christopher,
This a forum for learning and sharing. If you cannot do either, and only persist in making snide, childish comments, hypocritical blatherings about being a Christian while swearing at members during infantile name calling, why be here? Seriously? Why are you here?
It is not to learn - your postings show that blatantly.
You now claim I am 'stalking you' . How does that work when I post first and you come along afterwards with some pathetic comment that denigrates my opinions?
You chose to join this forum, but you won't listen to more experienced collectors in threads you have started - so you then sulk and start to make negative comments on their knowledge.
Stop making yourself look like an idiot.
I helped you some time ago with many emails from my home address, offering help, opinions and open-ness. I now regret ever doing so - as others have on this forum. Turning around and crapping all over people who helped you is quite a comment on your character.
What goes around comes around - and you will regret your childish comments and surly postings.
          I'm out.

            Mark,

There's far more to life than a DAK nco tunic offered on E-stand. Ever since that I bought that tunic, your swith got flipped and you have attacked and baited me. Many have sent sympathetic PM's to me suggesting that I simply not respond. I'm trying to deal with you in an intelligent and adult fashion, but I too am only only human.

I will take their advice and simply not respond to to you.

            Christopher

Keep it about collecting or perhaps some time away for reflection would be better. A little respect does go a very long way but this seems to have been lost unfortunately.
We all come here to have a look at others collections, learn as much as we can, share what we know and make friends. This just isn't happening in this case which is a real shame.

Absolutely correct Mark. Very well said.
Some members on this forum are very strange characters indeed.
In fact, aside from making complete idiots of themselves, I think they also do it for the express purpose of aggravating others.

(and no, I dont have a religious mantra for the day ) - they are all back in my secure storage facility !

I think I'll lay my ego aside for now and read from the Good Book. I receive great comfort here and guidance on how to deal with other people.

How about we get this thread back on track, stop the sniping, stop the bible bashing and just show some good old fashioned WW2 German tropical items.
Here's my contribution to normality and learning, two of my favourite tunics.
The first is an early green tunic for a panzer em (which I have shown before). It is well worn, has repairs and is in a large size approx 96 chest.
The second is a beautiful tan example with Panzer Grenadier straps, sewn down pockets and dated '42. Both super examples and both what I term 'keepers'.

OK, I'll accept the entreaty. Very beautiful items you have!

Here's my other tropical cape: a rubberized KM rain poncho.

                            Mark G,
Outstanding DAK jackets. I can not stop looking at that Pz
Can you post closeup pic of the upper left pocket/ flap ? And the upper flap folded/creased at left corner of flap ? Also pic of the under side of flap itself ? Does underside of flap where folded upward display sun fading ?

My Pz tunic displays this phenomenon also and underside of flap clearly shows it was worn this way in Afrika for some time...more on this.

MarkNZ & Christopher do any of your DAK tunics display this too?

                            Christopher, really nice belt.
Admire your 'speculation' about interesting Gran Sasso photo. (If ?) this is early black LW DAK CT, the LW soldat would be Flak most likely not FJ and he would have arrived before the standard AK CT (Herr or LW) was issued. Otherwise he would have the standard AK CT if he arrived in June '42. The Ramcke unit did not consider themselves as DAK and in fact did not really trust Rommel. (with good reason) However that would not eliminate them as CT holders.

The piping could easily be red for flak also, but no way to tell really.
Many more flak in Afrika than FJ until June '42. By the way, Tobruk fell June 21 '42, not August. The DAK attacked Alamein July 1 !

                            best regards
                            Tim

                              Hello Tim,
Good to hear from you. I've just had a look at the panzer tunic and to my very surprise the underside of the pocket flap on the left 'does' show fading. Like yours it has been turned up for long periods. Obviously you know something about this and I'm looking forward to hearing it. You have mentioned this before on your tunic so it is extremely interesting to find another panzer tunic with this. I'll take some close ups over the next few days and post them for all to see.

                              Take care

                                Hi Mark

This is first time I noticed it on your tunic too! Yes check your books, You will see a very few DAK Soldats and Officers with this strange phenomenon...
Not bent from field use but actually creased/folded (or even ironed?) this way.
Left upper pocket and only left flap side turned up...for some period of time.

In the Osprey "AfrikaKorps 41-43" elite series, page #24.
There are two EM, both sporting this variation. This is just one example though.

Only in Afrika not Southern Europe from all the photos of first patterns I have seen so far.

Anyone else notice this before ? Go check your tropical first pattern tunics...

                                best
                                Tim
