      DAK maps

As bought home by a NZ medical officer

Militargeographische Beschreibung von Nordost-Afrika. Military maps of North Africa, issued Berlin 1940.

7 large maps contained in card outer. My pics have a 12" ruler in them, to give an idea of scale. Beautiful maps, in really nice condition. Some foxing, one map has a border tear, another has a hole, but outstanding for 75 year old heavy paper.

The pack is complete, the 7 maps are a snug fit in the envelope.

                        Mike,

Beautiful 1940 map set and in absolutely amazing condition, looks as though the envelope has acted as a bit of a time capsule

                        Regards

                          Thanks Paul

I tend to agree, and the envelope is still intact, despite its
                          Fragility.

                          Cheers

                          Mike

Managed to trade this one recently, a local Australian find stored badly in a black garbage bag in a damp environment for 15 years or so.

Some of the black plastic has bonded to the
                            Helmet in some spots.

The red colour on the helmet is caused by the degradation of the plastic.

Helmet colour is actually a mustard yellow spayed onto the original green.

                            Liner is dry and brittle.

Still over all a nice Aussie vet bring back para lid.
