      Hi Brian

One of the two original AKCT's you recently posted on this thread looks like Panzer's original from the reverse.

      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=743760

The tartan weave fake version has the diamond shaped hole in the "O" from the reverse and longer arm's in the "F" from the front, besides the tartan weave itself from the reverse. In this thread post's # 3, 4, 6 & 13 all have the "diamond back fake, aka tartan weave.

& Panzer, by all means start a thread in the Campaign Shield & Cuffittles Forum

      cheers
      Tim

        Tim,
        Thanks for the detailed reply.
I think I'm getting too "gunshy" from reading about all the fakes.
I had never even noticed that on the one I own.

                    Hi Brian

Agree its getting worse. Checked out that "other" Forum for the DAK conversations, and there were at least 4 other AKCT's labled fake that are perfectly fine originals. We do have to be careful that originals do not get labled fake which has happened more often than i can remember, and not just ct's.....

                    Nice helmet Mike

                      Great new addition Mike

I recently added this one to the sandpit. I always liked the Hermann Meyer hats but most I saw were unissued ones so when this used one with early insignia came along I could not pass it up. The back-flap has been lost to time but there is fading where it once was and some stains on the inside from use-just the way I like them.

                        Hi Barry,

                        Thanks for sharing .... I like it a lot .... ..

Here is my HM cap also dated 42, sadly both the neck flap and chin strap have gone to time ...

                        Cheers Paul ..

Really like your used HM Caps Barry and Paul, so much more appealing to me than the mint ones.

A nice selection of boards I picked up a few months ago, will be hitting the estand but nice addition to the thread. Matt
