I saw the same thing, that is why I displayed a ct on it. Awesome tunic, should have kept it. Agree on the combination of chemical and sun fading.J

Agree Jacques....killer tunic, wait until I finish the setup

I never saw it and these photos that I have from when I first owned the tunic give no indications of a cufftitle having ever been applied.

Agree both natural & unnatural fading, a real killer jacket

Would say from the photos the ghost of the AKCT is a post war phenomenon. It would have been very hard to part with this one & how long was the recent AKCT attached to the tunic Jacque ?

            Mark,

I do see the parallel lines of a cuftittle in the two photos you posted...before Jacques was the owner. I held this tunic in hand, pick it up for Sunny59 at the show, I inspected and took photos of it at the sale table at the SOS, did not noticed the cuftittle "ghost" until I was at the hotel room and take detail pictures...with flash.. to send to Sunny59...and saw the cuftittle ghost. Since this superb tunic have the sun AND chemical fading as was usualy done in Africa by troopers and officers...to avoid the "new arrived rookie look"...the fading in the cuftittle area as very faint can be understand.

This is my very personal opinion and view after seeing and inspecting the tunic in hand, but respect and understand your views and opinion on this particular detail of this amazing tunic.

Definitely looks like traces of a cufftitle in this image.

Here's a Luft DAK Artillery EM's cap & soldbuch that i just picked up. Almost looks like the cap had some trophies attached to it at one point.
