        My favorite WAF acquisition

        Hello,

Sooooo very many wonderful people on this site! Almost brings a tear of joy to my eye. I wish to thank all those who give unselfishly of themselves to share their knowledge and expertise in the field of collecting.

A few final shots of my favorite WAF acquisition: the DAK 1st pattern panzergrenadier NCO tunic & matched boards. Will be returned to storage today for safekeeping/preservation, but I wanted to take one last opportunity to share with the members at large.

Will retrieve the pants & shorts today and share photos.

        Until then, Best Wishes.

        Christopher

          Hi Mark G

Thanks for additional pics of your outstanding DAK PzGr officers cap. Yes, can clearly see the difference in yours and NZMark's em/upgrade. In the original photo that "sold" you on the cap, the bad insignia looks really funny when compared to the cap itself which just speaks to you ,,, Also will thank NZMark for all your great help on this forum and to me with my bad cap posted recently. Actually everyone who shares their knowledge here should be thanked again.

Hi Daniele, The photo Christopher posted #266 demonstrates that inside grommet washer application which is backwords, most unusual.

Also thanks Christopher, for posting Jose'e photo of the unusual application of the inside grommet washer. Does anyone have a DAK/tropical cap with this style ? Would like to see it if so. I know of one longtime DAK collector, also member of the Forum who has an example, but he seldom posts anymore.

And that PzGr first pattern is just Outstanding Christopher.

Again thanks to all fellow DAK collectors for posting and lets see some more,,,

          best
          Tim

Here is an authentic African veteran. This cap can also be seen in Dal McGuirk's book, "Rommel's Army in Africa."

Here is a detail from the sidecap. Will try to add something different tomorrow.

Thank you Tim! I'll try to add something interesting soon.

Does anyone else have a Meyer with embroidered insignia? The Guild had one for sale some time back, but it was in rough condition.
                        Regards,
