Anyone interested in seeing my collection of DAK pants? I've got both styles of shorts; corduroy riding breeches; riding breeches (DAK material); corduroy breeches; straight leg (DAK material); etc. I'll retrieve from storage has a desire to view.

I believe the helmet is DAK. The tin is probably later.

                  Hello,

Very well Gents. I'll retrieve the trousers from storage this week. Meanwhile, I got some boards to display here ... the panzer EM. I still need to apply blanket coat material to the reverse of one to finish the resto.

I appreciate seeing many interesting items, I'll just ask that contributors don't go deleting their pics and completing depleting this thread.
Unfortunately this has happened to a few tropical threads in the past and leaves future viewers wondering what we were all looking at.
                    Thank you

                    Mark

Those are some really nice tropical camo helmets. Yes this thread is really something special, fellow comrade DAK collectors,,,

Hi Daniele, thanks so much for posting the inside grommet photo of your superb PZ cap. Though this appears to be the standard grommet style. which is wonderful. (nice photo really helps).
In Jose Figueroa's work, Tropical Headgear Vol II, the version I mention is in photo on page # 14, (also has photo showing the makers stamp) for this unique style of putting the inside washers on backwards. Only one maker did this to my knowledge. Perhaps someone can scan the photo in Jose's book ?

Daniele It is very helpful to see these photos of your classic cap, not just enjoyment but real learning experience too. Outstanding.

Hi Mark Gibson, is your officer cap post # 205 a original factory applied officer upgrade ? or field upgrade ? This cap is really something amazing too!

                        best
                        Tim

                          Hello,

Here's a scan of page 14 of "Tropical Headgear of the German Wehrmacht in W.W. II" (vol. 2), by J. R. Figueroa (ISBN: 0-9637201-1-2).

                            Hello Tim,
the officers cap is a factory issue piece for a Panzer Grenadier which I was lucky enough to get early last year. When I got it the cap had a fake eagle and post war soutache sitting on it, which I promptly removed to reveal the shadows from the original insignia.
I had been looking for insignia to restore it for quite some time and was very kindly just offered a beautiful well used eagle by one of our fellow forum members, NZMark.
I'll take this opportunity to thank Mark, who apart from being a very valuable and helpful member of this forum, is also an extremely nice fellow and gentleman. An absolute pleasure to know. I'm sure that you would all agree with me.
                            Thanks Mark.

                            Here are some pics.

Finally the pic which I first saw of the cap. After having already added a few original em's examples to the collection and from what I had learnt from fellow collectors and the forum, I knew right away that this cap was original even with the bad insignia.
Study the caps that you see, learn from people you know and don't think with your heart. Good caps are available, just be careful and learn before buying.
