An absolutely steller collection. You have some amazing items in your collection that would be impossible to up-grade.

        Any new items to share?

Thanks for the bump Pat as I hadn't seen the updates since 2011. Great stuff!

Mike can I ask you a question about your first General tunic? Why are there so many ribbon bar loops on the tunic if the awards you included on the reproduction bar are accurate to the date that he was shifted out of the Luftwaffe? Would have he perhaps worn a larger ribbon style bar?

Adam - To accommodate the medal bar...that would be my guess.

              Loops ...

              Adam,

Jason is right. The loops are there for a very large medal bar. General Ruedel had WWI and between the wars Reichsheer service. So a large bar would have to be accommodated with a lot of loops.

Much of the collection you see in these posts is now gone. I decided to stop collecting and sell my collection last Fall -- and though much is still here, a lot is now gone. I hope to dispose of the rest of it in the months ahead.

Thanks for the compliments -- I always preferred things in the best of condition.

Even more info on the younger Carp

I think the sole surviving son rule went out the window. Supposedly Stauffenberg's predecessor as Ia, 10th Pz Div, was transferred out because he was retired Gen Blomberg's son in law and Blomberg's last son had just been killed in Stalingrad (another spon was shot down over bagdhad!) but he was soon on the Eastern Front. Similarly younger Carp ended up going to General Staff officer school fron Fewb to Jul 44 then became the Ib (G4), 126 ID. He ended up the war in Army Group Kurland on the staff of I Corps, probably as the Qu. He and the corps Ops officer, Major Wilhelm Fehler, tried to escape to Sweden at the capitulation and were sentenced to death. Not sure whether the sentence was carried out but Sweden eventually sent all the Germans who ended up in their country to the soviets.
