Seems we had the same idea.
Here is another hint: a canteen cup from my collection.

I can post the Pictures in Zeugamt as well, if you like.

        Nice cup!

Südd. Metall. Fbr. Mussbach is also listet in the "Wer liefert was" Book, Ausgabe 1936/37, so i am pretty sure it is "SMM"

        Best regards

        Dirk

              Redirected

Ok apperently i posted in canteens and was directed here. I have been doing research on my canteen markings you guys seem to be the only ones i can find who knows anything about it so any info would be awesome. It has FSS38 on evrything the cup the cover the cap and neck it was given to me by my father who was in WWII.

Sorry, I thought you only wanted to know the maker behind the FSS marking.

                Anyway....
Pictures would be nice, but from the info given it can be said that it is a matching early war canteen (probably with a black drinking cup), made in 1938 by the maker "Frenzel & Sachs" located in "Schneebach" in Germany.

                Regards,
                Chris

                  Hi again.

I received this mess tin from a collector in Austria.
Could it be the maker "BSW" is "Brüder Schneider, Wien" ?
Just like the well known BSW buckles ?

                  Regards,
                  Christian

                    What a beautiful item Christian.
Never seen a mess tin by this maker before.
And yes I think that BSW means Brüder Schneider Wien

                    Gruß

                        Thank you Bernhard !

Let's go hunting for more makers ;-)

Is there anyone keeping track of all the results, i.e. compiling a list of all known makers so far?
