Hi,
heres my only water bottle ,vet gift no cup did they all have cups.

Well actually they had cups , WW1 aluminium model ones , that were kept in the brotbeutel .
The ones I saw were mainly dated 38 and 39 , but it doesn't prove anything ...
On that subject , I have quite an oddity to display that will necessitate a few days of patience from you gentlemen ...

Here are the 6 I have:
1. unmarked, came on a Hitler Youth setup, belt, buckle, breadbag, HJ knife etc.
2. Coconut, HRE41
3. SMM 43, cup HRE43, wool cover unmarked with many field repairs
4. MN42
5. WAL42 w/ 41 dated cup and L SS AH 1 pnzr reg marked strap
6. ESB41 medical canteen mint and unissued

Here is my wehrmacht canteen.

Every single piece is EEF37 marked, also at the inside with a purple colour..

The strap is named but its not so clear..

Besides a standard canteen I got in a lot, this is my first canteen purchase which will be coming in the mail this week. Is the difference between Gebirgs/Sani canteens the clip? I'm waiting to get a picture of the reverse so I can better ID it.

Either way it's gorgeous, and I am glad I got it!

Any thoughts/opinions appreciated.

The brown straps bring in mind DRK canteen without any clip or hook at all. There's another great thread about medic's and GJ canteens:

Reading further in another thread:

According to the '38 dated manual... There were several other organisations too, that employed female personel and which did not attend a colour-gender-policy like the DRK. For example female personal in the Luftschutz.

The Wehrmacht for example used brown Sanitätstaschen, where as the DRK strictly issued them to women.

Like I said, either way, it's prestine and I'm glad to have it.

Canteen with green straps

Canteen is SMM 45 marked. Steel bottle is painted dark green. Cup is SMM 44 marked. No markings on wool cover and straps.
