Were not the simi-hollow Anti-Partisan badges made by Juncker injection molded?
I believe that there were several types of injection molded TR badges.
This would be a type of casting process by using liquid metal forced into a mold, thus not struck, right?

The Juncker semi hollow anti partisan badges were hot die forged, not cast. To me casting is pouring liquid metal into a mold. The Juncker badges had heated metal pressed into a female mold with a male die portion under pressure from the reverse which forced the heated metal into the crevices of the female mold. Antonio does an excellent explanation of this process in the APB book.

Those Assmann badges may very well cast but I am not familiar with them, maybe someone else can clarify their manufacturing process.

Pouring liquid metal into a mold was definately used during the 3rd Reich era. Here's a scetch of the Kokille used for the Ostfrontmedaille.

Ok, that makes sense. I think that forging was a common manufacturing method for many TR badges. However, we do know for a fact that while most SS belt buckles were struck, a few originals were injection molded by CTD. Flaws on the back side show that these can be identified as such.

I absolutely agree that the honor rings were in no way, cast. Imo, those were pressed, which still produced similar results as other items that were either struck or forged.
Sometimes, the overall thickness of the item called for these other methods of production from the typical striking method, imo.
