Theres more books because they were needed. Years ago Don couldn't get a publishing deal and did it all himself. His black book is still the best for raw information.

The newer books are all finely done and finished. And more important in different languages [Ital. German.,CZ,].
Beautiful detailed color photos are the norm now. And other than Craig who mistakenly believes that were investment cast , basically all have the same information..

The prices the dealers were asking at the SOS were on the high side. There is always some wiggle room..
These rings will always be popular. It does not end when you buy one. It just starts! You get to research it, find a box, and the miracle of maybe finding the matching award document

I think Gaspare is right on the money with this. Doing the research, assembling all the info and preserving it for future historians is a big part of the collecting process.
Sure, you can have a common (if I can even used that to describe one) ring to a person and no other info and it may not mean that much to a collector when they sell, but finding and researching an important rings is very satisfying on a historic level.

This is absolutely “NOT” the same “Bruns” ring that was posted on the first page of this thread. Look at the “teeth” on the skull. This one still has the teeth clearly showing, however the one posted on the very first page has all its teeth worn out. Same name and date but two different rings. As far as authenticity is concerned, the one shown below is absolutely 100% original, there is no question about that.

You are absolutely correct. The original Bruns TK ring, dated 21.6.39, comes with two legit COAs. The copy Bruns ring, supposedly dated 24.6.39 (???), is the subject of this thread.

There are so many of these threads/post/pages of rings and construction methods by Mr. Scalpini, I am so confused that I don't what I'm reading. It would be more than I am capable of, but it would be nice to consolidate them into one coherent thread. Ron

I am not the ones making all the claims and posting countless post/threads/video links. That person should make a coherent thread with supporting evidence and stop teasing with snippets. Either wait and post when you have gathered all the evidence and then post. The way it is going not it is a continuing sage that has no end. The videos with the unprofessional delivery of evidence and comical presentation with foul language is not a professional way of proving a point.

i'm sorry to say that i honestly don't have the time to work on the SS-TR, as i'm already working on dozen of other touchy subjects involving massive scams on various fake medals and insignia.

And the various topics are clearly just a big mess...
When i want to explain something (check the various illustrations i provided on the WAF), i try to be as precise and simple as possible, so other collectors can easily understand how to identify an original from a fake, and get easily to the point.
This is not the case for the TK rings.
