I find POR very annoying, but he should be selling it at Hermann Historica. There he will get no less then 10x more then the markedprice, so after all % is paid- Craig still can afford to raise the titanic.

Large ticket items often attract a trade plus cash scenario ... a dealer may pick up attractive pieces in trade and then have them on his site so his inventory value could stay the same but the items themselves turn over and the original items real profit amount not be clear for several transactions down the line. I feel this is why so many of these top shelf things migrate from dealer A to dealer B etc untill a high end collector snaps it away to his bunker.

P.S. Whether right or wrong in my perception if a big ticket item is found sitting on a certain dealer's site for too long it acquires a stain of 'Shouldn't that have sold by now if it was all correct ?' and passing it along the dealer chain refreshes it.

I don't know how dealers handle high dollar items like this. If the asking price is $100,000 the dealer could say "Well, I paid 75,000 and sold it for $80,000 so I'm only on the hook for $5,000. How would the IRS really know the true numbers? And what if the tunic came via trade? What value do you put on the items traded? Again, asking 100K, selling for 80K, a dealer could say that, in his estimation, the items traded were worth about 80K, so, hey IRS, I don't owe you anything!

I actually bought that tunic for myself, and wanted to put it in my "Gallery" - and unfortunately, the "POR" came up by accident (none of my gallery items have a "POR" on them). When I featured it on the homepage, the "POR" thing came up. I don't think I have ONE single POR on my website, for the same reason you guys state ... I hate it!

Anyway, if you want to see any close-up shots from the tunic, I will be happy to share them. And yes, this tunic has some lock solid provenance. I have been wanting this tunic for about 15 years, and finally got the chance to sell my soul for it!

These scans aren't very clear, but I'll do better in the AM. The above shot shows the tunic in the top right. I've got lots of documentation for this going back to yes, 1945. This is part of an old auction catalog where it sold. I don't know what happened to the medals or aguilette, but I'd sure like to find out. By the way, if anybody finds a picture of Ribbentrop wearing this, that person will be well compensated! I will post more info on this tomorrow.

Yes, but I don't own that, and couldn't afford it! That was fun to play with, also. I also just got another very "high ranking" tunic today, but it's not German, I haven't completely authenticated it, so I will refrain from showing it until I have my ducks in a row and know it's real!

Let me guess, Italian or Horthy? All the good stuff was taken to California and Florida with the retired. I do not know if you have heard some of the liberal talk shows? they have on several times talked about the desk and are not too happy about it and its "evil" history.
