Fantastic piece, in my humble opinion, for what its worth, the tunic and base wool and constructin details (details not often seen)
are one looker for a mid to later war SS stug, and very different from the new italian wool copies out there that attempt to mimic the 43 onwards wraps.
rob, that wrap is fantastik! The photo of the Vet in it is a real clincher! I could be real happy only owning this grouping and nothing else!

I'd bet the tunic in photo is the same tunic, notice the inward curvature to the horizontal portions of the rank tab, on both parallel planes. Looks identical to me...photoshop comparison should be able to confirm. With the documentation and photos, and the portrait, you have something seldom to almost never seen.
