"Thought I would share this period Norwegian SS recruitment image from a Norwegian paper I received, dated July 13, 1942, which should help to date this wonderful poster to around the same time".

Well, both yes and no. This poster was designed by Harald Damsleth and foremost used in a recruitement drive along with other simular posters for "Den norske legion" in 1941. It seems that many of the Norwegian posters weren't distributed with the same limited time span as for instance Dutch posters, and therefore it is highly probable that this poster was still in use in 1942. "Den norske legion" was however disbanded as a unit in early 1943, and that definitively set a stop to the use of this poster.

Exactly! There aren't many period pictures of this and the other posters in use, although it is said that they hung in any official and semi-official office during the war, at least in Norway.

There is however one picture of the poster in question hanging in a train station on the outskirts of Oslo in 1941 possibly 1942. As I can't upload any pictures, perhaps Christian can? It is featured in the foreword or afterword (depending on which edition you have) of "Parti og plakat" by Tom B. Jensen (The "bible" on Norwegian NS posters). You have the book, right Christian? Perhaps both of you do...

I recalled having seen anther image of it somewhere although I may be imagining it.

If only there were such comprehensive records for other countries posters as there are for Norwegian ones.

Things such as different sizes and the numbers they were printed in for German, Dutch, Belgian and French etc... would be invaluable.
