those 3 caps are sensational. I esp. like the cloth-covered
                  visor. amazing.

but - I'd still like to know if SS crushers came with any sort of visor (and were mainly std. peaked caps w/the wire removed), and if the W-SS issued or had available on special order any Old-Style factory crushers officially known as such in period price lists, as the Army had.

                  Robin?
                  Cheers.

The regulation enlisted/NCO crusher had a cloth peak.

Private purchase officer ones had a leather peak.

Officers often wore the cloth peaked ones too, with cords attached.

A lot of it was down to personal whim.

True crushers do not have the vulcanised fibre peak like standard peaked caps. Peaked caps with the wire stiffener removed are not crushers.

Hope this BRIEF summary makes sense!

As I attended to my first Stuttgart show many many years ago I brought one EM crusher with me with a cloth cord visior (has no insignias anymore), sold in 5min before the show started and I was very happy about the money. Now I can cry about it . I am pretty sure some original ones are still out in some closets, but finding them ...
