Robin - handsome cap.
But a Q.: did the W-SS use a different
type than the Army? "Textbook" Army crushers seem to have a "non-shiny" or matte soft leather bill. Your bill looks a LW one: shiny, stiff with a reinforcement bead our front.

Or did peaked cap makers use whatever bills were on hand - and if, for that matter, an SS man wanted to take the wire out of the top for that jaunty look, who really cared?
