            same thing as LW Flak artillery but with no gulls applied...
            so unissued ...no stitch marks, no holes ...just moth damaged!

              Yes it could be, but also could be Ital SS . My thought are the same tabs sometimes used . I like the tab .

                    Different manufacturer's made these red tabs that is why you will find some slight variations in material most were wore by members in FLAK units. I believe that Italian SS volunteers were probably issued surplus of "Flak" tabs. I don't think that they were red tabs specifically made for the Italian SS but that is my opinion.

                      Actually a privately tailored uniform with LW style fake French cuffs, LW pattern pleated chest and unpleated skirt pockets, but with a collar more in style with the KM + added questionable Italian SS insignia. I thinks its a privately tailored uniform intended for a LW officer and post war restored to Italian SS.

                      I agree most likely LW Flak and Italian red SS tabs are essentially the same if German produced.

                          Question for Dennis!
                          Why were these eagles (image = Dennis' collection) manufactured in gold bullion?
                          Is it because gold is the Italian officers collar (like cuff chevrons?)
                          and only later did they switch to Bullion silver (German style?)

                          The other one is a reproduction from Italy (Paki made?) ...also embroidered in Gold!
                          Was that the (early) standard for these?

                              Nick, I don't think mine are gold just some type of silver wire tarnished. The wire around the unissued tabs are actually silver and silver tarnished almost to black. If any gold was used it was probably just what the tailor used or preference by the Officer. All were private made under no control such as a RZM.
