      Thanks Mike,

that E-bay batterie is great. Pity the perspective, it will give me more work. I had spotted a civilian Zeiler battery but finish was much higher quality.

See some found batteries. Three are Zeiler and the fourth is a Pertrix model I didn't know:

I usually need 4 pics good to make a label, if not five (for the top seal)

            Hello Mike,

I had seen those slready, thanks anyhow.

I contacted the seller of that Zeiler battery and he had deleted all the pics once sold. He told me he had sold other batteries so I could copy from his sales...so I filed all his pics and might help me in the future. Seems these were also produced in 1944:

Well, sitting here, looking at those photo, I realise they are covered in cheap cardboard. Even if the covers are parafined, I can see them disintegrate when getting moist or wet. Must be fun to be in the german military.

I wonder what they did in eastern Europa and places like Norway or Denmark.
Buy local produce or move german batteries ?
In fact, I have seen a danish wooden battery lamp with german markings, made by danish battery maker Hellesens, so I know they did buy some things locally.
(20 years ago, seller wanted more than $ 100.- for it, so I let him keep it)

Besides, I have learned there are people out there collecting batteries. Never thought of that.
Good luck with the future designs. :-)

Well, I started in the battery world hardly 2 months ago, when I started this thread. I've always wanted to know what went in the space for the "kastenlampe Batterie" and I ended making these repro labels for my boxes. Other militaria collectors are interested in these repro also, as it is difficult to get original batteries in good condition, but I have started collectin batteries myself. This is the one I bought today:

                  Well gents,

A Zeiler prototype. Does it look Ok? Compare to an original.

Now, here you have the deffinite Zeiler one (at the right). I've added a bit more contrast and adjusted. Central band is a higher tone of tan and top seal also redone. I'll have to slow down a bit or I'll replicate all German battery production from the 30's -40's.

As someone has asked, I've put some batteries with my repro labels for sale at E-stand. I made them for my boxes and torches but I know other members migth like to have some for theirs. Enjoy

Oh!, seems the Zeiler link doesn't work...

Just a step further. Can you see anything different in this battery?

                              Looking nice!

Are you marking them as Repro?

I did the same with the fieldphone elementen, made some nice labels and used post war batteries. One got lost during a military fair in Holland and 2 months later was offered on a big Dutch dealers site as original for 100 euro, and sold immediately.
I recognized my creation and sended them a message.
From now on I will put a big stamp on one side, marking them as repro. They are recognizable as repro anyway, but dealers don't look anymore, just buying and selling for enormous amounts of money without paying attention to the stuff.

                              best regards Sven

                                hello Sven,

Yes, making them as repro. I was tired of seeing my battery boxes with Duracell batteries so, while studying German original ones, I decided to make some for my boxes. Starting first by the Diamon, then the Pertrix and now the Zeiler. I hope they won't fool anyone as the ones I am selling only have the label glued to the plastic case. I am making myself some with cardborad slip-on case, though. See my torches now:
