I've thought, perhaps some other members would like to have some "German looking" batteries, so made some for E-stand. I keep on looking for some original, anyhow.

      Carles,

Many thanks for making your battery labels available to members. I have number of battery boxes that are used in optics and I will certainly take you up on your offer.

Your labels look a 1000 times more period as compared with some repro battery labels I bought off ebay some years back.

Hello Michael, thanks for your nice words,

They look nicer than other repro because i have worked using photos of the original. I am mot totally satisfied, though, I keep on working, trying to improve them. See some originals taken from the internet. I believe they were also posted in this forum by some fellow collectors.

              hello Val,

Thanks for that information but that batterie doesn't seem to be the one i am looking for. The dimensions should be about 6.5cm x 6.5cm x 8.5cm. That one in the pics seems to be 3x8x10

                me6_130,

Germans had box shaped so called bunker lights (Bunkerlampe) that used
those rectangular batteries. There was different models of those Bunkerlampe that used different battery sizes. The direction is right, but i haven't yet find another battery images for those Bunkerlampe.

Yes, I know It should be for some lamp of that kind but the question is "What" battery, for what lamp?
It must have been standard in the Wehrmacht for the boxes to be produced for that specific model.
I have bought another model of "Batterie kastenlampe" that doesn't coincide with those dimension...but seems the original battery it carries was also used for the Enigma decoders and was another standard in the Wehrmacht:

Dimensons of this battery would be 6,5 X 10,4 X 7,5 cm according to seller. I haven't yet got it.

me6_130, thanks, your battery you are getting is very interesting.
When you get your lamp and battery, can you make the topic
also under the Comm section, i visit Optics section very seldom (sorry).

Seems like one Enigma version used also Tanax Nr. 330 battery

See here, end of page, under "John Staaland's Enigma Batterie, date stamped 1943."

                      http://www.enigma-replica.com/

Unfortunately i don't have measures of those two Enigma batteries you linked on the cryptomuseum page - do you happened to have those measures? Thanks.

                        Hello Val,

I had seen that other web, thanks. Sorry to say I don't have the dimensions of those repro batteries but I am convinced the one I have bought is the same kind. Seems they are 4,5v, just as mine, and colour and the electrical contacts are so similar.

Yes, I had thought of starting a battery thread at the com. forum when i get my "newer" lamp.

me6_130, Tanax Nr 330 is also 4.5 volt and there's inside three D size cells,
so from that you can actually guess the measures of the Nr 330 battery.
The links earlier with the ruler match to those guesses.

However, those guesses and measures don't match to the original Enigma battery we can see on the cryptomuseum page, actually those measures are more close to that Naval Enigma battery - Nr 660. But that's strange.

Well, the large enigma battery seems to be a 6 or 8 cell one (6,5X7,5X10,5 cm) double than the Tanax nr330, that seem to carry only 3 cells ( 3x8x10 cm). Photos taken from http://www.enigma-replica.com/ for study reasons.

I haven't been able to find the dimensions of the Tanax nr660 batery but from the pics of this repro they look similar to nr330.

In this other web it states that dimensions of the large Enigma baterry is 7x7,5x 10,1 cm and not 6,5x7,5x10,5 as my seller stated. The difference is very small and could be just an error when taking the dimensions. I will confirm when I get mine.
