Don´t worry too much.
I have a german version on a german site as well.
Besides, The latest version of the list gives a fairly good outline of the topic.
I strongly suggest anyone interested to retrieve a copy and store it somewhere conventient and accessible.
Google search for cxn 8x60 has turned this thread up consistently. At least on my computer. ( am I proud?, well, a bit, I admit)
Regarding the presstoff holster, I have for many year believed that those single digt "4" markings were in fact 1945. They are also seen on late war pistol holsters.
Marking tools and people, who could make them, were in short supply as early as 1944. By then, even skilled workers were called to the colours, leaving the factories with Ostarbeiters and retired personel, who were asked to work again, to try and make do.
Didn´t offset the simple lack of high grade steel, though. Even their JUMO jet engines were made of iron, where high grade steel was anticipated. Making scheduled rework neccessary after as low as 30 hours running. Amazing thing is that they made them fly at all.
So, to get "45" stamping tools in 1945, may have been difficult. I believe this is why they grinded off a "4" from 44 and kept just the one. ( I have no proof, only guessing)Last edited by Mikedenmark; 01-29-2014, 01:54 PM.

Not a cxn - but interesting to see a wartime made civilian Busch Marlux serial 401985.
Still - if Zeiss and Leitz produced the odd civilian bino for military service during WW2, no reason for Busch not to!
