A photo of the serial number would be nice. And thank you for sharing this one with us all. I will incorporate it in an updated list.
I think, I have 2-3 more numbers by now. (been a long summer)

The markings inside the cap is most likely german bakelite markings. They show the manufacturer of the part, and as far as I recall, can occassionally date them as well.
The key for this is somewhere on the web. ( sorry, do not have a link)

    Mike

        Hi Mike,

Many thanks for that bit of info on the bakelite - I will look into that. Here is (hopefully) a link to a photograph of the serial number:

            cxn 8x60

I have it on great authority that only 250 were ever made. From 426500 to 426750.

Jill C, thank you for the photo. :-)

              Mike P.
So far, the 250 production run fits what has been observed.

Only, if anyone has solid info on such a 250 batch, then this list keeping is sort of a waste of time.
Not that I intend to stop. But I would really like to know, where people get that kind of knowledge.

I can only ponder on why such info isn´t shared. Maybe in Dr. Seegers next book ? I had a sneak peek in june, and will definitely buy it, once it gets printed.

My mistake, they are actually 6x30 with the correct pressstoff case (marked cxn and dated 1944) and the correct rubber rain guard. Will post pictures shortly.
