Thanks Dave, I knew you'd like it. In the mean time, picked up a rare pair of boards for Ost volunteers in Luftwaffe. Black-piped for engineers could have been used by any nationalities including the Caucases, but the yellow piped for the flieger was only in use by Ukrainian or Russian pilots (Russians probably belonging to KONR airforce, Ukrainians scattered in various German units)

      Ukrainian Volunteers' Photo...

      Ukrainian Volunteers' Photo...

Just nabbed this Ukrainian Volunteers' Photo... due to the kind tip of a friend.
Will fit in nicely with your Ukrainian Volunteers' Section.

I'll get you a better photo after it arrives!
(Definitely see the Schuma Sleeve patch + 'maybe' the Shoulder Boards.
Don't know about the Collar Tab type. ? a Polizei type?)

Also the nice "I'm in the German Army" Green Armband..... Txs, Dave/dblmed

Great pic, I would love to see a better resolution of this image. I was actually discussing this photo with my colleagues. I am not sure what to make out of it - Luftwaffe sponsored Schuma unit?

While on the subject of volunteers - one more frame on Waffen SS got completed. The middle photo on the bottom is of Serbian SD volunteers.

        Small collection of volunteer cockades:

          very nice collection !
A stunning amount of rare volunteer collection pieces.

I wish I could have used some of your splendid examples in my book on volunteers of the Wehrmacht, it would have been a nice addition !!

                  Photo of 2 Schuma Men

I just got in the photo of 2 Schuma men. No writing on the back. Seller states that they are "Ukranian" Schuma from an album. I can't tell?

                  The Photo shows:

                  • the Schuma LT. sleeve patch (it is 'shiney' so perhaps that will narrow down the possible types.)
                  • Im Dienst Der Deutschen Polizei arm bands - NICE!
                  • Uniforms (& Schuma wore just about anything!) that look a bit like LUFT Tunics to me.
(BUT... I am no authority on these.) One tunic has a flap pocket.
                  • Probable Polizei Type Collar Tabs (Patches)
                  • Unknown Shoulder Boards - too narrow for typical Schuma + no Swastika seen on them.
                  • 2 different styles and sizes of leather belts.

You may see other things that I missed! ...Txs, Dave/dblmed

Great photo Dave! Its definitely Luft tunics. As for the Schuma patch color and board piping, I think its green.

P.S. I've seen similar boards before. There was a Schuma tunic on E-stand some time ago and it had similar boards, they are just like other Schuma boards in construction, but are missing the swastikas.

                      Comments on Schuma Photo...

Thanks Askold... Do you think that we are seeing 2 types of LUFT Tunics
                      being worn in the Photo?

1 with flap pocket (RT) and
one without the flap pocket (LT)?

A 'probable' Green color does narrow the Sleeve Patches down!

I missed seeing the Schuma tunic with narrow boards & no Swaz.
I would have loved to archive photos of it. They just don't come around too
often, to get a real good look.

I enlarged the photo to 200x, but the definitions of the edges of these
boards is blurred out. But, Green piping does make sense.
                      ...Txs, Dave/dblmed

maybe the pocket flap was just tucked in the pocket....
I think both jackets are the same

Ukrainians in LS Luftschutz service would be my guess and the Schuma sleeve oval could be considered a "nationality" (country of origin) "arm shield".
                                What else could it be?
