Ill do that...if you and your moderators would curb the flaming by people like bonini who have yet to offer any useful information. If you allow the flamer you should allow the response. I have no objections to this thread being cleaned up properly. Here for instance is a flame..

"Me too, John! You just take bad news way too seriously. How old are you, anyway? You remind me of a neighbor kid back in the sixties."

John, I am flattered that you should ask.

However, I have learned long ago, never delve into an area that you know little about; which is exactly where I stand with peaked hats.

That having been said, from the pictures, the example looks believable to me.

And it would appear, that there are many others, well more versed in this area than I, who like the hat and I would think some comfort should be found in their assessment.

Me too, John! Just stop. Right now.

That is a super ensemble you have there. It looks killer!
And yes, I have had caps, tunics, and belts. I've been in this hobby
since 1971, give or take a year.

As a peace offering, you can have the obersturmfuhrer shoulderboards if you want them. Just make me a fair and interesting offer in cash or trade.

They're not going anywhere, so take your time.

                  Your ardent admirer always,

My Cap arrived today. As soon as I saw it I knew it was 100% righteous. Not one sign of tampering the wear spot that Dave Kane thought was from "sandpaper" is from dirt and "oils" from a thumb lifting the visor on and off,no sandpaper effect at all.The wool has the brittle stiffness of original wartime wool exposed to elements and not the softer consistency of wool stored away and used later make new items. I will say it now NTZ, Stonemint, BenVK, SAYLE F. You guys know your caps, keep up the good work and thank you !

That's what it's all about. Photos don't tell the whole story. Good or bad.

                          I'm jealous too John.

HA!!!! I was thinking about that one myself this morning. That was a very prestigious high end dealer who made that comment.

I usually let those things blow in one ear and out the other, how many times have you shown a good piece to a well honed pro and had them while holding it, hands shaking and nervous as all getup, say just about anything to de-value a piece they dont or cant own? Later to buy the same piece third party down the line and say oh I always knew it was good.Im not especially a visor cap guy but every single one Ive owned has been original one direct from the German vet. This one will sit in my case and be used down the line for trade since these are difficult to find and my money doesnt seem to spark interest when trying to buy the things I want.I have a field tunic that matches the material very well also.

My other Fat chincord visor that is now owned by a forum member.
