Are these a rarer variant? I understand most of the GPBs I've come across are pin backs and not with the long pin ...
A lot of the badges had fragile pins and were often lost so many recipients had the pin modified by Jewelers such as the case seen on the 24mm in John's collection.

              Mr. Pepera??

Nothing like making an old guy feel like a really, really old fart!

              Thanks much.

If he could only see you in the FLESH, he would instantly know what a suave and debonair raconteur you are. Even if you do have an occasional problem cutting that side of beef you always order at the Fifth Quarter.

I see you got those drops of au jus off the v. Eberstein riker mount.

Sorry John!....I've met you at the SOS and, like others, am bedazzled by your GPB collection...wanted to show deference before a first name basis.
                  Thanks for the familiarity.
                  Sincerely,
                  Bob

                            Joe W.,

Some guys just can't keep a secret!

By the way, it was much more than a few drops of au jus on the mounts. It took an hour to get the potatoes, sour cream, gravy, the au jus and the beef out of my socks, shoes and pants.

                            It wasn’t FUNNY!!

But a great time and good meal was had by all.

                            John
