    Not that it matters, but as there are some inaccuracies stated here by those who think they know, but don't, for the record, the badge ownership went from Germany to England and now to Greg. IF it was in the US before it would have been fur sale with a German dealer, but to my knowledge it's not been owned outside of Europe before.

      SMV,
      Thanks for the clarification!

        A few reasons why the CB was a special and important award IMO;

        1) A true old fighters decoration awarded for street battles against Marixts.
        2) An award for a victory for the young party.
        3) An award so rare that most of the bigwigs didn't even poses one.

          The epitome of the Kampfzeit. Way cool award.

              Wasn't it the first actual NSDAP award badge? The award predates the NSDAP coming to power in 1933.

                Hi Erich,
                Actually the 1929 RPT was the earliest party award.

                    Yes, but the 1929 RPT badge was created as an event badge, which was later 'promoted' to an award, whereas the Coburg was an award from its inception.

                      Erich,
                      strictly speaking, you are correct regarding the early award status given to the CB at its inception. I was going only by the issue dates of both awards.

                        I would agree with both Erich-es. The Coburg badge was one of the first NSDAP party badge; and its recognition was one of a "political victory award". I haven't seen any new ones being offered on the market of late.
