There is no writing on the back. He looks quite young, I hope he made it through the war.

Some use Photoshop if I recall correctly. I'm using Recolored myself though (http://www.recolored.com/). Cheap and easy to use... It works best if you have a colour photograph as a base which you can use to pick the right colours. This is how it works - as you can see it's hardly a neat and tidy job the get the coloured lines laid out:
