Dear Bill,
great to see the Camp Concordia photos arrived at your home. The man wearing the denazified black cap was Hauptmann Kawan, a reserve officer who owned a big shirt- manufactory.
After the war my greatmother who also traded with textiles often bought shirts from him. one day they talked about the war and and my greatmother told him that her father served in africa. kawan asked about his name. my greatmother said "hörtnagl" and he just replied: i was his adjutant and accompanied him to the ship when he was released due to an serious disease.
If you'll ever find more material about him please let me know.
regards,
Stefan
