I like that picture of CPT Miller.
Looks how I would want to look in combat, a pipe in my mouth and a German holster at my side.

What a fantastic collection!

Bill,

You have amassed a great group of photos. I'm glad those panzer images are gathered into one place. And you know what I like best? The proud looks on the faces of the young GI's! They knew they had accomplished something significant when they stopped the German armor. And they all wanted to be photographed alongside those knocked out behemoths! Thank you again for the opportunity to see these . William

As has been correctly pointed out by my friend Don Campbell, it is a Tiger II hull, not a Panther II. Sometimes I tend to see what I want to see... But anyway, magnificient pictures, thanks for sharing Bill!

Hi William,

Glad to see you joining in on this thread. I know what you are talking about and I believe I've stated to you my reasons as to why I like these kinds of photos!! You get to see the German view of kicking butt but not so much of the GI view of doing just that. My Dad was a hero to me even though he didn't talk all that much about WW2. So posing on or near one of those behemoths was a big deal because it no longer instilled fear in them....it became a big game trophy. Our hobby is based on alot of the smaller trophies (souvenirs) that our Dads or Grandads or Uncles brought back from the war. For many of us this is what sparked our interest in collecting from us old timers. Bill

Akira,

Now that it has been pointed out by your friend and upon closer examination I agree it is a Tiger II hull...of course that makes it all that much better since it is very hard to find Tiger II pics. Thanks - Bill

Bill,

One last comment....your dad definitely WAS a hero, no doubt about it, and so were all those men just like him who left everything behind to fight for our freedoms. I thank God for them all, and especially remember those who never came home.
