The image is too poor to make out the town for me. His religion was "gottglaeubig", a non-Christian theist cult, and his profession was Maler und Anstreicher, or a painter.

Does this look like ink, or a stamped (fake signature)?

I think I can see some parts in the letters are dark from overlap which is a good sign. What worries me is it looks like there are parts of some letters missing, but that just may be the way he wrote?
