Many thanks again Pauke. Very human inscriptions, if not that informative. The Sardinia one's interesting though — I was under the impression the Wehrmacht didn't go there till the Italians signed the Armistice in September (in fact I do have a photo of a couple of guys wearing soutached caps marked Ghilarza, but I'd assumed this was a mistake for Ghirza in Libya)!?
Any view on 10499?
