        Thanks Pauke.

Unfortunately there was no Prussian general by the name Bohden. On second thought, it could be GenLt Richard Herhudt von Rhoden (with Rhoden mis-spelled as Rohden). He was Inspektor of Infanterie Schulen in 1914. But His sash is an enigma to me.

        Cheers

The writer is sending Fraeulein Schulz the promised oracle numbers which indicate that the war (WW 1) will last for a longer time.

                    Greetings,

I found this document today however I didn't have too much luck with translating it except figuring out that it's most likely some sort of a residence permit (?). If someone could translate all the readable parts of it I'd be very thankful.

Sending you this card/picture as it would interest you. Spent Pfingsten with his dear parents. Do you know anything about our Wolfgang? How often we think of him.

                        Loving greetings, Aunt Else

                        best,

Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

Basically, that's it. In Germany you have to register with the local government offices, to let them know you've moved.

(I forget the specific name of the office that's responsible for this, it's usually at the town/city hall, I believe)
                          From top to bottom:
                          Landkreis is the responsible county
It's good for the 3rd period of a work permit
                          The appropriate law (or ordnance)
Ort is the town/Date is obvious
                          Then stamps/signatures from appropriate persons/offices

                          best
                          Hank
