Born 23 March 1922, died 10 Oct '42 near (or in) Stalingrad
Father died early, and he was a true son who stayed close to his mother. 5 Siblings. Due to his true & loyal character, he will remain in his comrades memories.

For his people and fatherland, while fulfilling his patriotic duties, he was gravely wounded 26 September. Buried in the heroes cemetery in Sowchosa, 6 km west of Karpowka.

Belief in himself and god were his strengths in life and comfort in death. That's why God accepted him into heaven, where we'll see him again.

Then there's a poem at the bottom.

                best
                Hank

The article concerns a SA guys history from WW1 though to the 30's. the guy was a big cheese in his town. I'd rather not publish the article at the moment, would anyone be prepared to translate this for me? If so could you please PM me, thanks!

Translation on back of an SS Postcard

I have this over in the SS Forum but no one has come up with anything.
The writing on the back doesn't look German.
Any takers on what language and what it says??
                        Thanx,
                        Tim

                            Yes, Lithuanian.
                            From a PM to me:
"For a long memory I'm sending this photo for you my family"
                            And name Julius.

Well, generally I do okay on reading, but can't get any farther than this:

                                Beim reinigen eine Jagdwaffe, wurde statt ? ...frei ? ? ? ?

                                thanks
