I would really appreciate some help with translating the text on this Sterebild.

I have attempted to use an on-line translator however, frustration has acheived the upper hand and I appeal to those who use German as a native tongue or have a knowledge far greater than mine.

All help will be very gratefully received indeed.

            Regards Richard.

Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.

The text gives a short biographical synopsis . The soldier came from a roman catholic family, he was working with the telegraph office (Telegraphenamt) Rheydt. He came as a volunteer to the German Air Force. After he was WIA during a nightfighter Feindflug he came back again.
30 April 1942 he had an aerial combat in the Norchwich (England) area and was KIA.

Hi, Could I please get some help with a translation of the backs of these photos. I am not sure if I have them right and to ignorent me, some of the captions look to be written backwards. For context I believe that they are from SS Div. Nord in Finland. Thank you

The bottom 2 say Finnland '41. And you're right, this scan is "mirrored" so everything is backward.

Gents - Here's the last one for this week, a "Feldgrau" with IR 120.

As we'll see in a moment, this gent has beautiful handwriting (which I'm still unable to read!)

                          Thanks for the help!

Here's the back. I can see that our friend is named "Georg" and that he is writing to the Welte Family living at #2 Jacob Street In Stuttgart.

Can anyone make out his last name and what his note says?

Thank you very much and Happy New Year to all.

Bin bereits seit 7. April eingezogen u[nd] nun zum Abmarsch bereit. Auch dieser Schmerz wird vorübergehen!

Uwe - Fancy meeting you here!

Thank you very much for deciphering Georg's beautiful hand writing. I had him down as "Banfleau" but I'll have to look again. I wasn't sure if the first letter was a "B" or a "K".

In any event, thanks again and have a very Happy New Year!
