Also because if present in the list.

Maybe you're referring to Hans-Günther Lange. Google this name and you could find a lot his pictures...

I waited two years for his answer. So maybe there is still a chance?!

Yes, I visited him a few times. After he lost his wife he is in a very bad health. As far as I know he don´t respond and sign anymore. If you want send him a letter and try it.

          Also some sad news,
Hermann Kunz passed away on March 18th 2012.

About 3 months ago, I received a reply from Herr Freyer. He signed all of the pics I enclosed and answered a few questions. A friend has not received a response on the letter that he sent around the same time. I believe it is hit or miss. So, he does respond.

Wow! Two years, a long time. Perhaps I am wrong then. I recently read a book on the winners of the Gold Nahkampfspange and in the section on Herr Boosfeld, it noted that he did not speak with the author and didnt want contact on the subject

Karl-Luwig Barths still answers letters. He do not sign pictures but he offered me to sign his book "Jungmann". I did send it to Mr. Barths on Tuesday and received it back today - only 48 houres later - issued with a nice dedication.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Has the book been published in German language only?

Thank you! I did read in the forum for a long time already but today it was my first post.

As far as I know it was only published in German language.

Yes you are right. I overlooked the ''join date''. I only noticed the number of posts
Pity, then. I like reading these kind of books but unfortunately not all of them get translated. Herr Nugiseks also wrote a book which would be of my interest but in Estonian language.
At least we have ''Tigers in the Mud'' to enjoy.

Mr. Nugiseks book would be interesting for me too, but only in English or German. Maybe it will be translated later on. I hope so.

I read a lot of books from German vets. I like the true Biographys of simple soldiers. And I always try to get it personally signed by the veterans.

Rudolf von Ribbentrop answers to letters also. I did send him the book "Mein Vater" a few weeks ago and he signed it and issued it with a dedication.

Ludwig Bauer did send me his book "Wo Panzer sind ist vorn" in autumn last year.

And in February 2012 I visited Rochus Misch in Berlin. He opened the door and he did let me in. He was very friendly and he signed his book for me. On his table there were many letters from all over the world. He said that he get's a lot of post every day and that he answers to different letters every day.

How was Herr Misch's health? He must be getting well into his 90's now

                            cheers

His health was good as far as I can say it. He will be 95 years old on July 29. this year. We talked about 45 minutes and he was mental and physical in good condition (considering he is nearly 95 years old).
