I have researched Rathmann before and have found no evidence of him receiving the Diamond badge. The wings do not look like a Diamond badge in the photo shown here.

Interesting and well known photo taken in 1945, after Göring's surrender. He can be seen removing the PO badge and also his aid, Oberst Bernd von Brauchitsch, is taken his badge with diamonds.
