Could we please get back on topic?

    Thanks,
    Sepp

The fact that they are made by different people makes it easy to visit a jeweler to have a copy made and I've heard that some of these already exist for quite a while, no ?

I'd rather take a handful of nice flight badges instead of one of these.

It's something for women actually, not for brave pilots ..

I'm sure that modern 3D techniques can create them.

IF I had a eye on one of these, I would only take one with provenance as a rock, not one that went from hand to hand to hand ..

Some of these look sharp, like made by hand tools, while others look plain cast ..
So, what was the procedure .. ?
Think that every badge was checked thoroughly before it went to the recipient, no errors should be in that badge..

      Jos.
Just an opinion but Jo's said it all for me in one post. I,ve had a very nice fake put in front of my nose. Looked great but too good to be true. Give me a CEJ pilot, j2 po and a scig CEj and I,m a happy boy.

The saying "a fool and his money are soon parted" applies best to the majority of these badges.

            I'll get back on topic:

Hermann Göring's uniform at the Heldon RAF Museum. Attached to it you can see a postwar fake diamonds badge, but I think it's interesting to show it here nonetheless.

                Sorry,

I didn´t understand that you folks don´t understand german.

If I was interested in french wine, I would probably try to understand some
french. If not, it will all be like Chinese, don´t you Think?

You can only buy these with provenance, otherwise it's like buying a unknown painting from a famous painter..
There're frauds who can do Picasso, Salvador dali etc. , even the biggest art collectors in the world are fooled with stuff like that..
It isn't us to figure out whether these are good or not, it is where they came from.
These are no regular badges, plus the fact that not many are interested in buying one for several reasons.
So, it's only nice to see a couple of good ones with provenance and the dubious ones without.
Fact is that fakes are floating around.

                                Jos.
