DANG I LUV them Thick tight woven FJ C loth Badges...
I know if I was a FJ ..I would prefer them in combat for 3) Reasons
1) they don't turn into shrapnel when hit
2)harder to lose than metal pin backed device
3)if I had fallen (KIA/died)harder or less likely to be taken off
As a war trophy
And as always BILL
Many fine thanks for showing your OUTSTANDING collection over the years!

Howdy Bill!
DANG Bill YOU are The MAN!!?
The best thing about your foto Bill is this:
It debunks all them folks who said it DIDNT happen
.....there no photographic documentation...
....and then Bill Petz comes mossiying by and tells us all:
Look what I got in my mailbox today!!
Your foto made my day thanks for this and all your posts
I know ALOT of effort goes into your collection
And I just want to reiterate. THANKS for sharing!

I normally collect German 35mm photographica (cameras, slides and negatives). Sometimes though when I buy a camera I am also offered photo collections. Here are some interesting images I received, which are part of a larger collection of Fallschirmjäger photos taken in Italy in 1944. The second photo was taken at or near Monte Cassino and shows several members depicted in the first picture.
